Wow, we actually had a professional blogger in our class!
I really enjoyed listening to her, the most interesting part was to find out how she motivated herself to take jobs and write about stuff that is just not interesting at all and maybe has totally no audience at all.
Since I am also "forced" ;) by a company to talk in a blog every week, it was inspiring listening to her.

But still, I am just not a blogger-person.

Return on Investmen

Let's talk about something more useful, about how we measure our business!

Wikipedia tells us:"Return on investment is one way of considering profits in relation to capital invested".


The ROI is defined as  Profits / total capital employed.
So the ROI provides a rate of how investments bear interest.


For example, if a person needs $2000 to build a computer and sell it for 3000$, and he just wants to do this one computer, the ROI would be: ($3000 (revenue) - $2000 (cost) ) / $2000(cost) = 0.5 = 50%.




How cool is that?

Bridge Camera

Hi folks,

i just searched for bridge cameras. I lost my camera on a boat trip in Arizona a few weeks ago and now I like the chance to get a new - better - one.
So should I get a big DSLR? Paparazzi Style?

The amateurphotographer community made me think about that - should i better get a bridge camera? WHAT IS a bridge camera?

To determine that, I used wikipedia and the well-known photographymonthly.
Bridge Cameras use nearly the same chips as DSLR but the lenses cannot be switched. That is why they have in most cases superzoom lenses - which are good for my purposes.
The picture quality is not as good as with a DSLR, but you have a good equipment to start with and to learn how to take good photos.

But i don't want to spend too much money, so would a used one be a good idea? Maybe!
The german newspaper chip.de had the Nikon P100 tested and found it pretty awesome. That was 1.5 years ago.
A perfect period of time! Why? Because 1.5 years is still not a huge technology step away but is still enough to make sure that the camera is sold cheap, when used.

So, amazon told me the following:
Nikon-P100 for $199

So will I buy it? Let's ask my wallet! Do you want to know the answer? ;)

Don't judge me folks, I was so much in a hurry that i did not even realize that my tie is just dangling out of my shirt. It's kind of hilarious, so i kept the video ;)

Use Twitter to understand what the world thinks

On Twitter i follow Barack Obama, CNN and Bill Gates.
Twitter is a great tool to get short news about what individuals think of the world / their lives / maybe even special products.
So i took world's VIP Barack, then Bill Gates just to be on the news what he shares about leading one of the biggest software companies in the world.
Last but not least CNN! Why? Like on of my best friend, an afro-american would say: "Keep up wif da news, boouy!"

Market yourself!

Everyone sees is own special position in our huge world. At least, everyone wishes to find his very own profession - to help the world develop.
To communicate what you are doing and maybe even to find your niche, marketing is needed.
Marketing is everything and everywhere.
Our new possibilities due to technology let us stay connected during all times and tell the world who we are. No matter if we spread our thoughts as a company or a single person. In order to strengthen our standing, we have to use marketing. We market ourselves.

We already perform marketing if we participate in communication. The difficult aspect is just to do the right marketing in order to have appropriate mix to reach the world which is accepted and appreciated.

Building a brand online takes much endeavor. 
First you have to be present,  you have to reach your audience through the most possible channels. Second you have to give you audience the chance to feed back and demand improvements which you have to implement. Use the audience to find out what is wanted on the market and what not!

Third.. no! I will not post my marketing plan here, that would be ridiculous. You would make money just because of reading this awesome lines and I am just sitting here writing it?
Here's the promise: When my first million is on my bank account, I will complete this Post.
