i just searched for bridge cameras. I lost my camera on a boat trip in Arizona a few weeks ago and now I like the chance to get a new - better - one.
So should I get a big DSLR? Paparazzi Style?
The amateurphotographer community made me think about that - should i better get a bridge camera? WHAT IS a bridge camera?
To determine that, I used wikipedia and the well-known photographymonthly.
Bridge Cameras use nearly the same chips as DSLR but the lenses cannot be switched. That is why they have in most cases superzoom lenses - which are good for my purposes.
The picture quality is not as good as with a DSLR, but you have a good equipment to start with and to learn how to take good photos.
But i don't want to spend too much money, so would a used one be a good idea? Maybe!
The german newspaper chip.de had the Nikon P100 tested and found it pretty awesome. That was 1.5 years ago.
A perfect period of time! Why? Because 1.5 years is still not a huge technology step away but is still enough to make sure that the camera is sold cheap, when used.
So, amazon told me the following:
Nikon-P100 for $199
So will I buy it? Let's ask my wallet! Do you want to know the answer? ;)

I know that bridge cameras are better quality than regular cameras. You can take awesome pictures! I hope I can try it when you will have it!
But it's expensive no? Do you have enough money to buy it?

ReplyDeleteI have a DSLR which for my photography course in china.But it is really bad for traveling.Professional camera is not the only one thing to shoot a good pictures.I think you make a very good choice of your camera.
And I was looking for a used film camera now.Sometimes,it can make us focus on other inportant parts of photography except technology.

ReplyDeleteI used to have a simple Canon digital camera that I used to carry on me all the time, but now I have a reflex, it's a Canon again, I really love that brand. But it's too big and I'm afraid to take it everywhere. Canon has really good quality, and so does Nikon I just don't really know them :)

ReplyDeletei rethought it all - and bought a DSLR! A used old 350d, i know its an old model but it was just $200 with the kit-lens and i thought that is much bang for the buck!
